Health maintenance is as homogeneously important as tackling long term and deep issues. I do believe there is a time and place for psychiatric medications but I also believe society in general is over diagnosed, over medicated and under seen. Taking the time to discuss ones workday in a therapeutic safe setting can be extremely valuable to ones overall happiness just as much as dealing with ones impactful past issues. I also understand that sometimes talking it through is just not enough to overcome ones obstacles and you simply need a little help getting your life in general back on a positive and manageable track. If you need help helping yourself I am here to assist in getting you the specialized care you need rather it be finding you a psychiatrist, support group, rehabilitation center or other types of specialized services you could benefit from. I have even assisted clients in things ranging from fighting denied insurance claims, home foreclosure and job procurement. Many people cannot afford or justify the standard therapy format for the purpose of health maintenance or a general pursuit of becoming a happier person. Part of my own pursuit of happiness is providing an affordable alternative to standard therapy or counseling to benefit others. I believe that one must feel safe and comfortable for therapy to be optimally effective. I believe the patient should look forward to their therapy appointments not dread or see them as a necessary inconvenience. Rushing out the house or from work to make a therapy appointment, sitting in a waiting room full of other patients for an appointment made weeks in advance can be demeaning, demanding and uncomfortable. Writing a check for 175 dollars for 50 minutes of a therapists time can be financially burdening and stressful in itself. I myself attempted traditional therapy and due to the cost and inconvenience the process felt self indulgent and therefore I was unable to benefit as much as one should. I complained the cost was too much when 95% of the time I just talked about myself. Obviously, all therapist need to make a living they deserve to be paid nicely and sometimes I get customers who I feel would benefit more from in person sessions or have a particularly severe issue where a specialist in that area should be called in , so I find a traditional therapist who I believe will be a good match. I offer 30 minute online sessions for $30. The first twenty minutes can be wasted just getting comfortable in the therapists office. My philosophy maintains that is not the optimum environment for healing. It is also not fair to use ones friends as psychotherapists. Psychotherapy is a must be all about you endeavor and friends will fatigue quickly. My clients are usually able to contact me if they need or want to talk even past midnight. I believe that is a necessary option in order to establish trust and feel safe. I also feel too often therapists take advantage in the form of poor or pretentious customer service of the fact their patients invest in them not just monetarily but emotionally. One shouldn't have to wait a week for needed emotional support or be told their problem is not important enough to warrant an unscheduled or emergency visit. A patient that works graveyard shift should have a therapist willing to see them outside regular business hours. Therapists should give their patients 24/7 access. I give my clients 24/7 access. By not leasing office space I am able to pass the savings to my clients while also offering convenient after hours scheduling. Part of feeling safe is knowing that your go to person will be available in a crisis. This modality allows convenient and flexible scheduling opportunities that best suit my clients.
